Jo “PJ” Hirabayashi, a world-class performing artist, drummer, recording artist, educator, and one of the pioneers of the North American Taiko movement. PJ is the Artistic Director Emeritus and

founding member of San Jose Taiko and the recipient of the Pacific Asian Women’s Award, Women’s Fund Awards in the Arts, Silicon Valley’s Arts for Leadership award, Arts Community Star award, and various other awards including the prestigious National Heritage Fellowship from the National Endowment for the Arts.
